Spring Green

This was the green scene this morning:

For Natalie's 3rd birthday Tuesday I photoshopped her into this poster:

Steven Wayne, just so you know he still lives here. He's busy, having doubled the size of his territory with Minneapolis for a year.

My herbs have started. Except rosemary, which I come to find out is practically impossible to start from seed.

On the continuing health saga: I went to the doctor on Wednesday since I didn’t seem to be getting my energy back even though most of the symptoms of the respiratory flu had receded. She took blood and I’m not anemic and said it just takes this long to recover from it.

Coincidentally, Friday I felt a lot better and tackled the pantry storage. In the process I strained my left shoulder (duh) and couldn’t move that night to find a position that didn’t hurt. Thankfully, at about midnight I remembered I still had some Celebrex pills for muscle inflammation that is no longer on the market. I took ONE and fell peacefully asleep. Ahhhhhhhh. The next day I was fine, although I have to watch it yet. I didn’t have The Boys Thursday since Jack had the stomach flu. He was still sick today.

Here’s a compilation of completed storage projects since I got the inclination about a month ago. I guess I have gotten something done while I’ve slowed down from first gear (PD) to idling.

I plan to go to the folks’ Monday evening for Marc Stuit’s visitation and the funeral on Tuesday. Lou is coming down too. Bev had sent me a photo of Marc canoeing so worked on it a day and sent this to Marc last week to represent his 'crossing over' with Christ at the helm. The scene is an actual photo of sunrise over the Dead Sea (Jordan empties into it). So I'm hoping he got to see it.

Sunny Again

It’s a sunny day in the neighborhood here at the convalescent home on the hill. Yikes. We are still recovering from this respiratory thing- Steve’s 4th week, my 3rd. We both stayed home from church this morning. I took Tues. off from watching The Boys.

I’ve been in sort of a fog that last week or two. I think I’ve been away from home maybe 3 times in the last two weeks.

I managed gradually to get all the curb upholstery fabric folded and onto the newly installed shelves in the middle bedroom downstairs.

That is the stairs that Jack fell down a week ago, all the way from the top. Sean was here to pick up the boys and we apparently lost track of Jack until we heard the bump-bump-bump-bump-SCREAM! That child moves like lightening. As it turns out, he must’ve basically rolled down sideways, not end over end, and barely had any marks to prove it, like Stunt Baby.
Here he is- a pic taken by a photographer friend of theirs'.

So I’m not real surprised when he and Shannon roughhouse in this pillow pile downstairs (thanks to the upholsterer) he only cries when he gets really clonked.

Every spring we get a starling or two down the chimney into the wood stove. This week that happened twice. The first was fricasseed immediately by a fire I built in the stove. The second escaped into the living room. So I had to catch the thing, and did under a clothes basket on the kitchen counter after much flopping about. Later I figured out I should’ve just opened a window. That would’ve saved me from having to sterilize part of the kitchen.

And I’ve had Marc and Judy Stuit on my mind a lot this last week, as he finishes his earthly journey. (My cousin's husband dying of melanoma.)

Spring Fever

I'm not washing windows yet, but I trimmed all the living room pots down so they can go out onto the deck in about a month. This is the arrangement I made from the geranium trimmings.

Then after beginning to process my curb findings, I decided to maximize the storage spaces throughout the house. This is the front entry cupboard. It has always had a center style post which made getting things in and out difficult. So I took it off, sanded and varnished the spot. Photos and table decorating things will go in here.

Julie wanted documentation on the curb haul, so here is some. The van still isn't unloaded.
Steve is spending the week working in Minneapolis, now covering that region too. He'll be seeing the Minnesnowta descendants. The Covingtons are recovering from respiratory flu or something. I've had a stiff neck version.
I started some herbs from seed for year round herbs on the counter under grow lights- easy access.

A sunset a week ago.

Curbing Joy

Yes, not much more to say, except I need to go unload the van now. :)
