The features of the weekend at John and Erika’s were Erika’s birthday and putting in a new front door. No bad weather up there OR at our house.

Aunt Anne's!!!
Laurie and I and the boys were in Rochester last Wednesday night through Sunday afternoon. We nannied while Anne and Dan were at a cabin in the romance capital of MN, Duluth. Shannon had been marking time by how many days it was until we went to Aunt Anne's. Laurie did all the food prep from Anne’s prepared meals and suggestions and I did clean-up. Erika, Ezra and Lydia came for a visit on Thursday.
Steve was golfing for three days with some customers down in Lake of the Ozarks and had a fantastic time and weather.
Wednesday was historic in that I pulled my first weed of the season: I weeded the front bed. I’ve either been too busy with closets or too tired. It was nice to be in the dirt; I was out from 6-9pm (Steve was out of town). We could use some rain again.
Lately I’ve been working on upgrading the patio, putting outdoor carpet on it and tiling a section for the grill. It’s always been a mess down there because the cement is so rough it’s dirty all the time.
We celebrated Jack’s 1st birthday. As it turns out, he didn’t like the chocolate trifle Laurie made.
Julie and Grace arrive here May 29 and will stay here till Sunday or so. Grace wants to visit the Living History Farms again.
June 20-22 we’re doing a Mom/Anne/Laurie/Erika weekend in Bloomington at a hotel on Steve’s free points. Should be fun!
Steve plans to use all of his vacation days this year especially since the added Minneapolis territory is a challenge, so we’re taking a week June 27 to July 4 at a cabin at Pine Lake State Park to get away.
Speaking of getting away, today we head to St. Paul for Memorial Day weekend. Saturday night we’re going with John and Erika to the Minnesota Orchestra’s performance of P.D.Q. Bach: The Vegas Years. I’ve had that P.D.Q. Bach tape for 20? years; it’s hilarious. And installation of a front door is on the agenda as well.
